Call for Expressions of Interest: G5 Sahel Women’s Coalition Participants (Fr)

Who: Women leaders from civil society organizations, business associations, and political parties in Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger with backgrounds living/working in or experience representing people from conflict-affected areas in the Sahel.

Where: Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger

When: Email zboihy@cipe.org with responses to the questions linked here with the subject line “CIPE: Coalition des Femmes du G5 Sahel” or complete the short application here

What: CIPE is opening a call for participants to join country-level working groups that seek to advance women’s political, economic, and social leadership on Sahelian security and development. In response to a request from women leaders across the G5 Sahel, CIPE is launching a multi-sector initiative to advance women’s leadership in developing policy solutions to address insecurity. The initiative will bring together women leaders from civil society, the private sector, and political parties to start country-level working groups in Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger. These women-led working groups will work with a local think tank to inform research and policy recommendations that address insecurity and support the principles of pluralism across the Sahel. Working group participants will then participate in defining a regional agenda and policy roadmap to communicate their recommendations to regional and national decision-makers. Working group members will have the chance to participate in regional and global networking and to receive training on strategic communications, advocacy, leadership, and governance throughout the project and will become part of CIPE’s partner network in the Sahel.

Working group participants will be expected to:

  • Effectively represent the perspectives of women who have lived or worked in conflict-affected areas;
  • Be interested in participating in conversations that include diverse opinions;
  • Be able to actively participate in the working group sessions.

CIPE has an open call for expressions of interest to join the group and we’d welcome women leaders from civil society, the private sector, and political parties in Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger to sign up!

Please see more information about the project here

The expression of interest form can be found here.
We will be considering applications on a rolling basis.
